Well, the purpose is most likely for Rin's side. It had always been in general that Kaede could get any lover he wants and so on and so forth. I know that Kaede has only Rin in his mind. But I guess the grandmother's scheme was what tackled Rin's possible insecurities. :)))

Yes! Exactly my thoughts. This manga literally revolves kaede and rin and i love it haha

There was a scene in Koitomo though where Rin thought Kaede was cheating on him (of course he isn't), and he cried. But seeing Rin's reaction is already enough for readers to realize that it Rin will be devastated if Kaede leaves him. So I guess it's just fine for him not having any competition for Kaede.

What if you end up liking Eri a lot more than the brother? I sure as hell did! <3 He's refreshing, funny and kind and the development between him and Nico is simply heart warming~
It's a lot better than so many yaois I read (I read over 1400, so I know what I'm talking). It's such a pity to ignore this one for such a silly reason...Just give it a try and see for yourself how pleasant and original this story is

It is to be honest. No offense taken. It's just that, I already know I wouldn't enjoy it so why push through? But there are instances where the couple they try to ship from the get go seems wrong to me and I would actually have another character in mind. Then all of a sudden, my ship was actually canon. Surprises me but I'm happy. Lol

Ah okey. Don't read it if that really stops you from liking it ╮(￣▽￣)╭ But I actually really liked how the first chapter made us think Nico will end up with the brother, but then took a 360° turn ヾ(☆▽☆)

im the same as u, i choose a pairing and if the pairing doesnt happen i mostly dun read further.its just liek that, u have a pair u think is well matched and u totally cheer for them but then...

Yep. There are times when I push through because the emotional baggage is not heavy, but when it's dramatical where there is trauma and family stuff, I can't. I do understand but I simply can't.

I do the same you do! That's why I try to avoid love triangle because therw is the chance I maight like the wrong person aka the person that won't end up with the main character. But in this case it hasn't happened because I'm not comfortable with incest so I didn' ship the two brothers xD. It was spared much pain to me this time :')

Ironically, I didn't immediately see that the last chapter's title is Happy Ever After. But I'm still weeping though.
