so originally yeon's string is connected to the girls but in a flashback we realise the child yeon and kihoon make a spell or aomething for them both to be connected. and im not sure why sometimes it flashes, maybe to remind someone

The girl is actually Yeon's supposed fated mate, but he messed it up by tying a red string with Kihoon when Kihoon is destined to be somene without any red string connected to him, thus why Kihoon is always attached with bad luck. This all happened in their past life btw which is in season 2
