I wouldn't say they love eachother, but I think it's more like complicated feelings that lean towards romance and love rather than loving eachother. You might feel unsatisfied with the ending but please do read it as the mc describes the feeling of emptiness and drought after getting revenge and I think it describes a lot of how people tend to feel hollow or as mentioned earlier; empty when they focus on a task and devote their full attention on it.
