Maybe I'm crazy but was Kaii always there or did he show up? Like I know he wasn't seen but they also never showed the bed and when Asuka was pulled back, you can see the bed indent like something was sitting in it but they never showed the bed in any panel beforehand so was he always there and only revealed himself when he got jealous or am I reading too deep into it?
