possessiveness and obsessiveness which are always fun themes. plot meanders a lot and it’s a bit superficial.
dropped bc i prefer more serious storylines
Escape, Ray
not got possessive elements between the leads as said in the tags but definitely has them in the beginning and with other characters. regardless, it’s an amazing story. so engaging, good art, has lots of angst and the dialogue flows naturally. it even has comedic scenes that are executed well. really enjoyed.
Full volume
artstyle is so pretty, the characters are so well drawn. dialogue is natural and the humour comes across well. however, it’s basically just pure smut. interesting smut bc of the different scenarios and roleplays that have been written, but asides from that nothing else happens so it feels kind of repetitive. some plot points exist but they aren’t developed in favour of including more smut scenes. 50 chapters in and nothing has happened - no definite relationship, no conflicts, nothing.
Trigger
dropped - lost interest. might come back to it but the plot feels like it doesn’t go anywhere
If You Do Not Obey Me
themes like non-con, abuse, stockholm syndrome, etc. don’t bother me that much. in fact a lot of my fav webtoons have had very dark themes, but i just found this boring. the dialogue is janky and the art isnt good enough to make up for the slow and non-existent plot. there’s attempts at creating a dark atmosphere but it falls so flat because the main characters have no personality to them. there’s also attempts at comedy and jokes and they’re executed poorly and only serve to take you out of the plot, if there is any.
gave up 11 chapters in
Ordinary daily life of an omegaverse guide
art was decent, but the seme looks too similar to the villain and the characters haven’t been properly distinguished so it’s hard to remember who’s who because of the art style - i’m just relying on hair colour. story wise, it’s a bit mid. it’s a cute cliche story but it dragged a little bit to the point that that the peak conflict in the plot was a bit anticlimactic. i think the action scenes are a bit static, so seeing how powerful the seme was supposed to be, i would have expected a bit more. the uke suffers from whiny uke syndrome and has no personality or characteristics asides from being a guide and an uke so reading things from his POV was extremely boring sometimes. i also feel that the chemistry between the two characters could be have been explored more and the dialogue could have been more substantial. i feel like they spoke a lot but it was basically about nothing. it’s still a fun little read because while the plot arch attempts to be deep and tense, it falls flat but the amount of chapters keeps you satisfied. overall, i wouldn’t recommend for the story, this is only something to read to keep you occupied while you wait for other better webtoons to be updated.
