So yeah, the mother wanted the empress seat but because of her low status, despite bearing the emperor’s child she was not able to claim the seat. Deluded with greed and anger she threatens to kill the children in her tummy if the emperor wouldn’t have a contract with her that the emperor can’t approach the twins as long as the mother’s alive. And in order to prevent his children from being killed by the own mother, he accepted the contract.
GOOD THING THE MOTHER DIED EARLY OMG 5 YEARS WAS TOO LONG WHY DIDN’T SHE DIED AFTER GIVING BIRTH? GRRR.
