Trusting blindly people will bring you issues, any adult that have been facing the harsh reality knows that. the reason she has put off questioning his origins is because up until now the one thing she has been worried about is her survival due to poverty. she didn't have the luxury to think about other things. and now that she's found a sliver of comfort she clings to it. it takes time to reclaim the identity you never got to develop, to gain confidence within yourself to be able to question others.
