Maybe because so many people said it was good, I decided to try the manga after watching the first three episodes of the ongoing anime. Haha, turns out it’s not really my type of plot. From the start, I felt like the FL was pretty childish. So far, out of all the characters, I only like the prince.
Okay, so it was actually pretty interesting at the beginning, but I started getting annoyed near the end.
Seul and his father are Yomul hunters. At first, we're told that Seul's mother died because of a Yomul attack, and his father was badly injured trying to protect her. But later it's revealed that she didn't actually die. She left them.
It turns out Seul's mother is a Yomul, while his father is a Yomul hunter. They fell in love and had Seul together. The problem is that a high-ranking Yomul became obsessed with Seul's mother and threatened her. He told her to become his wife if she didn't want him to hurt the people she loved.
I understand that she left because she loved her family and felt she had no choice. But here's what really bothered me. She was considered the Queen because she was the strongest among all the Yomul, yet she still submitted to this guy even though she was powerful enough to defeat him. I get that she was afraid of his threats, but she never really tried to do anything until the very end.
And then she was just... forgiven. That really frustrated me. There were so many chances for her to try to return to her family or find another way to be with them, but instead she just lived a normal life. Honestly, it didn't even feel like she carried much guilt over what happened.
Because of her decision, so many characters ended up suffering, yet she never really faced any consequences for it. That's why I was so annoyed with the ending.
