I hate when we discuss the meaning of revenge in these situations. This isn't revenge. It's justice. It's not like the emperor was ever held accountable or that there is normal way to do it. He literally wronged people and went his merry way and now we have to discuss if the wronged people are right to bring him punishment or not. If he took him to court no one would ask, is revenge meaningful? But he can't so he has to deliver his own justice duh.
Always expecting victims and survivors of power to jump up and down and do exhausting mental gymnastics. Just to leave a piece of shit in power. Expecting people to get no justice and stay quiet.
Ikr? The baddies can do bad things unchecked, but when someone wants to take revenge on them it's suddenly "oh no, be a better person, revenge won't solve anything" but what this does is basically make the perpetrator go unpunished and make them feel like they can get away with anything
I always say, those who spout BS like "turn the other cheek" *cough* religion *cough* arre just using that as a manipulation tactic to keep the masses compliant despite the abuses heaped upon them
