He was jealous of Jae Moon since they were young, that's why he decided to follow his parents career path so that he will gain their affection. But then it resulted from him being SAed and he was out of it to know that was Secretary Kang. Anyway, that was a wake up call for him to follow his own path (as a perfumer) and search his saviour. He can't just do that bec he is afraid to disappoint his parents and since he is jealous of Jae Moon, he used him as a tool (by false accusing him) so that he can step away and do his own thing without making him look like a sore loser and disappointing his parents. This is also his indirect message to JaeMoon that he has hidden anger towards hin all this time and Jae Moon just accepted it. Im sorry I don't think I conveyed it well, but I hope this helps a little

So i saw an edit about the movie and thought it would be a nice read but wtf only read 3 chapters and it is bs , in ch2 she gets rapped and nothing happens, skipped to the last chapters to see if it gets better spoilers IT DOES NOT he dies, she has a miscarriage, nothing happens to the perpetrators, found out the guys keeps breaking up with her to “protect her from his illness” wtf, dates one of her friends etc. Sloppy writing, not worth it.
