i don't know where you're from, but the laws are probably different in the country of origin and would make sense there even if they don't where you're from.

i'm from the US, so it does make sense that he had no choice in who took guardianship initially while he was still underage (18 being legal age in US, may be different in country of origin), but after legally becoming an adult, it wouldn't make sense, imo. at least, i don't think so. but i'm not fully educated on how inheritance works if the inheritor is a minor when it's intended to pass down, and if the guardian could somehow change things.

also, part of the MC's wariness in resisting/offending/disobeying the uncle is because the uncle has connections that he can use to harm MC's brother with, which is a major part mentioned multiple times throughout these chapters. even if he lost the control over the MC and his inheritance, he'd probably have more than enough time to harm MC's brother, and I'd assume the turnover isn't a fast process. but again, i'm not educated on how it legally works here, or in country of origin.

i'd also like to add that it's actually extremely 'normal' for a victim to stay with their abuser

I know transfering of inheritance is different from every country but this story was set on chinese settings which is Asian.

I'm asian by the way, so the similarity and differences was close regarding inheritance. All I know most inheritance and guardianship must be held by close family relation and not some uncle that I dont know. And its quite impossible that there is not even blood related family in this story except for his brother. Which is actually a major plot hole.

True though that the MC is scared that his only brother will be in danger through the connection of this weird af uncle. And I probably agree with that one.

But what I dont understand on this plot is how can the uncle have so much power. Yes, he is probably the vice director or something in this story but the MC's parents are the sole owner of the company. Most rich and elites cant go outside without bodyguards or lets say without being paranoid with their lives.

Lets just put it this way. If u are a rich guy with lots of lots of money. And lets also say because u are rich u are quite paranoid and perfectionist most business minded people are like that. So probably u will double check or background check all the staffs including the vice director or president because thats how business works. U cant just put someone uncapable of it. Which is I think another major plot hole in this one.


And about the victim staying with the abuser. Of course its a psychological phenomenon in which I cant even understand at some point. Because its quite deep especially in my knowing, psychological problem is being accepted in US countries but in asian its still quite discuss really big.

But what I get turn off in this story is the MC being just so accepted with everything. He accept all the crap that was thrown into him by this weird af uncle. And he didnt even feel some kind of danger when the mr hot guy came. Theres no sense of danger for this MC in which I dont understand. If you are person with lots of trauma and get scared which already shown in multiple chaps of this story. You must be warry of your surroundings. Thats why its contradicting with the whole personality of the MC. I dont know if its just a dumb making of characters.

And funny that most readers like this I didnt even see bad reviews.

But if you read a lot of manhwas and mangas u will easily notice a lot of plotholes in this one. In which I do understand because nothings perfect but what I didnt like is the author throwing plotholes and another plotholes which it didnt seem fit anymore.

Im someone who is timid and doesnt even comment if I know the story is fine or its just okay. But this story is quite weird and bad at the same time.

Like okay because Im the author of this I will throw this ML so he can save the MC I dont have a problem with that. I love common plots. But at least if u are a writer or an author u need to clean up every details of your story. Its fine to have little plotholes but this one has a lot of major one in which is not good.

And also let me add this I dont have a problem if u guys love this. I also read weird stories but at least Im going with something with smaller plotholes than this one. I'm not generalizing all but most chinese stories are like this. Most characters are so weird in which I dont understand really sigh...

But still thank u for enlighting me but I will still drop this because I didnt like how plotholes to plotholes are added.

I had to go back to the first chapter, since I wasn't too clear about the uncle thing, and I agree, it's kinda weird that there just so happens to be no other blood relatives aside from the uncle, but it's possible that will be touched on more later on in the story, as more of the past opens up-- I think it's being kept kind of 'mysterious' for the sake of plot, but I do see how it could be seen as plot holes, and potentially be plot holes, as you said.

As for the uncle's power, aside from being the Vice Chairman, it's coming out more as the story progresses, the connections and power he holds, and there's been hints that not only is he suspicious as a potential culprit of the fire, but he was aided- by servants and police alike(at some point, seme mentions that all servants were off/gone that day and at the dinner thing, the detective is revealed as having a relationship with MC's brother). I have a feeling that is was planned out for quite a while, and there were many people in on it, whether through choice or blackmailed/threatened into compliance.

I, personally, don't think there's enough information on the parents yet, though I do see your point on how it could be seen as off that they just had no idea, but while the rich may be wary/cautious, there's still people that will probably take action if given a chance to see their downfall, and with a good enough plan, it's possible they couldn't avoid it. Not too sure about the realistic side of that, though, just a general assumption.

and i'm sorry-- i didn't quite understand what you meant by is accepted in US but in asian its still quite discuss; if you don't mind, could you elaborate? i am pretty curious to know how it's addressed in other cultures/countries

I agree the MC's personality is kinda flawed, almost as if the author can't choose what they want to portray, but it would kind of make sense when taking account of his age when the uncle took over. He wouldn't have had a proper childhood, and his mental health could be pretty damaged from that. so while he may be wary of his uncle, he might only subconsciously have that wariness for people who resemble his uncle(age, looks, personality, etc) and since seme is quite different, but showed affection he hadn't received in any form since his parents died, it might have been what allowed him to gain some trust fairly quickly(there's a mental disorder that is caused by childhood trauma in which said person will grow attached to strangers fairly quickly and disregard any family/caretakers, from my understanding. I believe that one is called RAD- but there are probably similar, a lot of mental disorders often have similar symptoms/ behaviors).

true, true. it could be because it's their first work? maybe, honestly Idk lol but hopefully the upcoming story will have a better construction of plot development, because you do have to make a LOT of assumptions/guesses to connect what we know so far.

i think i know what you mean! i've only come across a few, there's a lot more korean / japanese ones on here(or maybe i'm just missing them?lol)

Its fine if its power battle between inheritance or position, I will try to understand it and its just weird that mr uncle af let the MC alive if he only wants the authority right? He was in the power already as on the previous chaps. Killing him will be easy as counting and the power will be his. Or the author just adding drama in which the MC needs to sign the contract so the inheritance will be given to mr uncle af. If what I predicted happen then at least its more realistic. But still another plothole because the guy dont need to be guardian if he just wants power.

Well in our country if u said you have a psychological problem. U are equivalent to crazy and u need to be thrown easily in mental institution. They classified all mental problems here as crazy. And they will look at you with malice and disgust. Thats what I mean on that. Thats why discussion of psychological problem in asian country is not quite accepted or more of it was not taken seriously and ignored compare to open countries like US.

Thats why psychological problem is hard to discuss at this point especially on the MC. But at least I hope the writer give a little dignity to or self love to his character. As someone whowrites story I hope he/she did not throw all the worst luck to the MC. Just for mysteriousness plot. Because I actually pity the MC at this point in which I wanna give up reading it.

I'm glad someone as u said your opinion regarding this. Some are just readers who just read and doesnt even comprehend about the plot. I even read at some manhwa that even the ML is a killer they will accept it because he is handsome and have a hot body lol. Its funny but at the same time I worried about them

I just try reading chinese because I want to see if they will change my opinion regarding stories. Lol its just they didnt change at all They are good at making weird characters with terrible psychological problem
