What are some of your guys genuine thoughts abt this? Personally I liked it, i thought it was cute, but I keep seeing a bunch of different dispute abt it now im conflicted
Genuine thought, it’s fine. Like it’s just a very cliche story where there just seems to be sm more chemistry with the 2nd ml but of course bc the ml is the ml he will have his 180 and fall for danwoo. (I’m def biased but it’s not without reason)
This is honestly one of my favorites (I'm going to go into detail with spoilers, so maybe don't read this if you aren't caught up to the most recent chapters)
It has like actually understandable drama as the characters navigate their feelings and situationships. + it doesn't drag on and the characters figure their feelings out in a very reasonable timeline.
People hate kwon, but as someone on the aromantic spectrum, he was really relatable to me. A lot of people wanted woori to be endgame, but while he was cute, he read as kind of immature to me -- which is another point to the writing imo, because it's not like he did anything cliche that would put him in the "immature younger guy" category, he (like most of the characters) just felt very fleshed out like a full character rather than just something thrown in there as an obstacle to the main couple just cuz. And because of who he is, he ultimately ended up supporting and inspiring the Danwoo and I just find it really wholesome and awesome that despite the complex feelings, they still like each other and want to be friends.
And the moment when woori's confession helped Danwoo understand where Kwon might have been coming from when he stopped him from confessing? (The whole complex "I really like being with you and how our relationship is right now and if you confess to having romantic feelings, it could ruin it" kind of thing) Peak writing. I love it. *Chef's kiss x10" (Not that Kwon was right to do that. His feelings were valid but it was ultimately a selfish move. But people are allowed to be assholes without suddenly becoming the devil but anyway-)
Also, that idol guy was an egotistical sack of shit, but the way he was used as a plot device to essentially hold a mirror up to Mr. Kwon so he could see how he was being a piece of shit was just another great writing choice. And despite his role as plot device, he never stopped feeling like a full character. All the things he did had his own motivations behind it and it never felt like any of the characters did anything "just for plot". All the things they did were because of who they are or how they were feeling.
Plot and drama all aside, the smut is absolutely peak. I'm a sucker for sensual shit like this. It's hard to put into words, but for me a lot of smut feels so lackluster. It's like... "Hands on dicks, dick in butt, thrusting and all done". Or like just a remix of the same 5 poses redrawn over and over in different orders. But the way every scene is illustrated in this one never gives that impression. You can tell exactly how they move between each frame, how their hands are holding and touching the other's body in a way that conveys more than just "and then they had sex". Instead of just being told "they're having sex and they feel good" you can see exactly what's happening and understand *why* it feels good. I'm also a sucker for little details that make a sex scene feel real. like how they drew Mr Kwon pulling out after going soft in the latest chapter- ...but maybe I'm just a freak. + I'm also really into people playing with my hair so that's another aspect I really appreciate about this one lol
