This series had the chance to be epic in it's own fan service way but it gets creepy real fast in the deeper chapters.
[spoiler] they forcefully keep him shota which is super creepy and the whole town is fine with it. Although, everyone doesn't fully know about it. Because it's the maids doing. JUST SUPER CREEPY. The maid just gets over the top in her creep level and it becomes nearly unreadable. [spoiler]
I think because I'm not Korean it turn me off at first. Had them been gate in another world with the odd monster cooking id have love this more.
I have no idea why i keep failing to read this. It's highly rated, I love kingdom building. I just don't get it. But It's like I can't get out of the first 20 chapters.

I had the exact same thing with another webtoon, called "Melody of the deadwood". Began it like 10 times, never got past 20 chapters.
Now i binge it, and love it.

I had that same issue with whose baby is it. I tried reading it several times but I just couldn’t deal with the second hand embarrassment that i felt from the first few chapters. Now i read it every time it updates.
Simple turn off your brain and just accept whatever the author cooks. Trust me u’ll get the hang of it
I think I remember that scene and almost the same blocking and everything in another book that has a lot more chapters. I can't remember the name or plot. Maybe things are just starting to blend because a lot of these books lack action scenes where the chick does the action so I never remember these books.
First one that came to mind was [a capable maid]

I search a few sights to see if this has a web novel. Since almost of these seem to and I couldn't find it. But it could be no one picked up the translation or something.
this could have been one hell of a story if the writer cared at all about blacksmithing or doing like 20 mins of research and maybe an interview with a blacksmith. I just got to the part where he has someone learning from him and it makes me so sad.
Indeed. The first couple chapters were enjoyable. But then female after female were introduced and it just wasn't as interesting anymore.
I started reading this after the anime even though it's not that popular. But I love the mix of sci and fatnasy. it's really one of those "tastes" thing it might not be for people. I could live without some of the females. sometimes I wish they just left these romance sub plots on the table. because they never want to write the women like interesting human beings. so why bother. if you wanna write a flesh light just use a flesh light and save us the unless word count.
the art style sorta falls off randomly. it's not the best story in general. But it isn't bad like a high mid totally passable filler. but it's like the effort in the manga wasn't even taken. like the publisher lost faith real f'n fast.
So, I ended up reading the web novel and it's a lot of (stats) which work better drawn out then actually read. So, a lot of you might want to just let them publish this out. Because otherwise you will end up being disappointed by the web novel. It's readable but not a great read.
