Actually, I think it's more like he's "in love" with Jin or Ei or in love with both, or at least emotionally fixated on both of them, since he was in love with Jin when they were teenagers in high school, and there's speculation that Ei and Angelo maintained a sexual relationship during that time. In the following scene, when Ei ushers both Jin and Sarah away from Angelo (purposely snobbing Angelo), there's a closeup at the bottom right of the page, of Angelo forlornly looking at Jin's and Ei's back (with Ei intimately holding Jin). This emphasis on this scene implies that Angelo was indeed hurt by the snub and that can only be because he's either in love with Jin or Ei or both. That is also why he threw his challenge not expecting at all that Jin would accept. He was as surprised as everyone else was. But yeah, Angelo is most likely in love with Jin, or in love with Ei because of their (probable) sexual relationship, or he's emotionally fixated on both of them and wants to be close to them; but indifferent he's not, that closeup emphasizes his hurt feelings:

I agree with you. My opinion of Angelo is very low. He tried to mess up Kagami and Shingo's relationship and now he's up to the same tricks with Ei and Jin. I hope Angelo never gets his own story/uke but if he does, i personally will not be tempted to read it. I just want him to go away and leave good relationships alone. Let the couples be happy with trying to interfere.
