All these comments of people expressing disappointment or dislike for the seme's job is just sad. People do what they're good at and what makes them money. Just because the service you're selling is sexual doesn't make it less of a job (the seme, for example, clearly did not see Hikaru as anything but a coworker, let alone in a romantic light) nor is it inherently immoral. The ending makes no mention of whether or not the seme plans to continue doing AVs, but from his comments throughout the manga about why he quit in the first place I think it's unlikely. If he did work as a porn actor after committing to a relationship, though, it could only be frowned upon if he didn't mention it to his partner. People are making such a big deal about the sex work, as though it changes the facts that the seme loves the uke and that they end up in a happy relationship. It doesn't, and the work he did earned him good money, which he needed more of at the time.

Porn stars have relationships too. Do you think they're all single? Besides in Japan sex work isn't looked down on as badly as it is in the West. (I mean a musician can switch to sexwork and no one would bat an eyelash, bu imagine say Taylor Swift deciding to become a porn star- they'll be outrage.) agreed, they were not even in a relationship . Yes he was in love with him. But he needed money at that time he was going through so much so he did what suited him best at that time. he was in need and there was an offer and he accepted it. He did what he can do as soon as possible . People refuse to look others struggle but look at the faults. People who works at sex industries are married have families too. I don't know I think my biggest issue is he didn't tell him he was going back to doing AV, and lastly that he used an excuse that he had to for money, but the other guy had just said don't worry about it. I would have been more than likely fine if he had just come up and discussed it with him like most AV actors do with their lovers or at least gave told him he was going to do it, but he didn't and it irks me!
That's a very valid point; communication is the key to defining what is acceptable and comfortable within the bounds of a equitable relationship. That being said, at the point where the seme considers/returns to doing porn, he is not in a committed relationship and so has no obligation to discuss his choice of work with anyone.
I see what your saying. However, They may have not been in a committed relationship, but they weren't just strangers either. They obviously had a romantic relationship going on, and while he may have not been obligated since he was trying to still build a relationship with this man. I do think still telling the person your trying to have a serious relationship with and who is helping assist you about your decision is the respectful thing to do. That is just my opinion.
How is NO one mentioning the fact that ASAKURA has no problem with it? If he doesn't, it's no one else's issue, is it? He told Kentarou early on that he had no problem with Kentarou's acting in AVs and later on, he was RELIEVED that it was just a job. He doesn't care. He was only worried that Kentarou was leaving him for someone else.
I have friends who work in the porn industry. They are happy, committed partners. I have known quite a few people who have worked in sex work and all of them have had happy, healthy relationships. It's ALL about how the two partners feel about it. Blah.
In reality, though it was called a job, the children and immediate family members often suffers the consequences... Well we dont give a damn to what other people think but children are different.
