Its a shoujo manga, that genre itself has it own laws and flaws.
you dont have to be rude about it, just go see another genre..

I’m glad they have a clear opinion, even if it might sound a little rude to you, I think it’s okay, they’re not insulting anyone.
The comment section is also meant for that.
Now people with similar taste as them probably won’t read or at least won’t push it if they don’t like the manga in the first few chapters.
Also they probably tried it because they do like shoujo, but not this one for the reasons explained

I like a lot of shoujo mangas and sometimes I’m not picky but some are starting to be too shallow for my taste so I get your criticism !
Personally I didn’t like it either for mostly the same reasons as you. I think some shoujo codes are no longer appealing to me

but its fine i kinda get you too, it is frustrating at times when you see someone so dense you want to push them from the comfort zone lol.
I do enjoy shoujo manga at times because it kinda connects me off from reality cause something like this doesnt happen in real life so you could say an escapism for me. But yeahh, these shoujo authors need to step up and change the game for the shoujo into something different

Tbh it’s not even a bad shoujo, it’s just not my thing (even though I like shoujo), and I get how it can be frustrating for some. But I also totally get why you like it, it’s obviously not the best shoujo ever but yh it is a break from reality

It's not the best shoujo, I've read much worse. But for me, the frustrating part, is that's it's so close to being good but it's *JUST* falling short.
every opportunity given for a LEAP in character growth is kinda cut short and we just get a TINY step in the right direction. it doesn't scratch that itch of "ah these characters are challenging themselves :)"

If you're a big shoujo reader, this will be a fun read. but if you only dabble in the genre from time to time (which is what i do), it's just not as much fun

I mean what i can see for sure is the author definitely know what their direction going towards but conflicts just gotta happened for some reason.
Sometimes i do wonder if they make this conflicts to make more chapters or making them closer. i just enjoy shoujo time to time, i also think this manga is still in old style more like traditional shoujo you see in 2014 lol
but typically honest im just here for the artstyle

i guess in his mind she has no rights to act like a mother now after all this time. i suppose his way of raising vicente, wrong as it is, is still more of a parent than ercella ever was (at least as its been shown so far).

fair point, in this time period i guess the father running his sons schedule was as far as 'parenting' was expected. poor kid

I think that he was not really neglectful, he was 100% aware of each of his son's movements while the mother could not be more ignorant of it, he was working while she was partying, I get where he is coming from, but I also know where is coming from.

She wasn't exactly partying, she attended a few social gatherings. Based on how much effort and how expensive such events are to hold, even if she attended almost every event, the number of events she would attend would be nothing in comparison to what we consider to be frequent partying nowadays. However, the amount of social events she attended is being treated as signficiant as back then, they had diffrent views on the mothers role.

Also, he was emotionally negletful towards the child, they both were.
