This is like Stockholm but phrased as romance. Stay strong soldiers this is not a healthy relationship. The ending is not what I would consider a happy one, but it's an ending.
In situations like these I always hope the mc and "leads" seperate at the end and reach their own individual growth, but that's just not the way life is -- nothing is bound to happen the way I'd want it to happen, and I'm certainly no author with the power to change a plotline
For me at least, I'll occasionally dabble -- but sometimes it feels worse to read than psychological horror because it hits too close to home with the entire social dynamics being so heavily played out, and it frustrates me when the omega simply fits the mold society made for them and doesn't explore outside of it. In the same aspect that some people just fit the mold people expect of them, and follow the stereotypes like they're a textbook rather than finding their own path to life. It irritates me even more when they attempt to fight it, and they end up falling to the instincts of their second gender. Like I hope that the complex world building can work up to say something, but even when it ends up as a romantic ending it feels like the message I hear at the end, is that in that world, true freedom of thought and action doesn't exist, and it's only an illusion.
I like this comic, I sympathize heavily with the mc and I really hope that it finds an ending where he can be happy. I don't typically enjoy the highschool setting, but the art style is nostalgic, and the topics reminisce the old anime and manga that made Japanese media popular at first!
