Based on other comments this is clearly an unpopular opinion, but I do not think the ending change was that bad. In the end the artist wanted to make this into a story of love, not hatred, which sure, is cheesy but is it that bad? There are far more stories where there are shittier charas who get forgiven or even become the ML, or those where the MC is calculative and scheming and gets revenge. But this one although she said she has been wanting revenge the focal theme was always love, so even if its not "satisfying" per say, its not a ending that felt out of place at least in my opinion
I ended up caving in and going to read the raws
The manhwa in korean has around 120 chapters at the moment, I dont understand Korean so I mostly understood what was happening from images and comments
What I can tell is, story progress slows down a lot, like its not like nothing good or exciting happens, but far more should have happened in basically 90 chapters
From what I know, the novel and manhwa are different at the moment, I haven't read the novel so if I ever mention it I will just say "supposedly" since well its what I heard is supposedly different with no confirmation
Basically Carl is still gonna be end game no doubt
Desa actually ends up showing herself to Arit once in private, and next in an encounter, but her identity is still not known. Desa is honestly so good, many KR readers loved her, and she does genuinely like the emperor so I kinda hope since the manhwa is changing some stuff, that there is hope for her happiness
The top 3 from what I see are Arit, Anya and Desa, ngl I dont think anyone would have minded if the ending ended up being Yuri xD
There is another incident where Anya is targeted and almost dies, this time Arit ends up giving Anya a magic circle (same one the purple dude has from Desa) to ensure her safety, and towards the end of the 120 chapters Carl learns that Arit is a witch
If anyone ends up reading this, feel free to ask for more questions I guess
Back when this was first airing as a novel, I was super into it, I just forgot to keep up after mid point cuz it became tiring to keep up w daily updates.
Tbh I have my few complaints about the manhwa currently, but luckily its not too bad though it could be better.
While I was reading my fav was Illya, but Clyde is a fan fav too. Also she has a really nice friendship with Damien at some point.

This is one of my fav series of the genre, and as someone who read more than halfway into the novel, well I personally dont mind "harem" or fanservice writing because in my opinion even with those elements present each female character still has a well written story that is able to make them stand out beyond the MC, and other than the female charas there are also quite a few Male characters who receive a lot of focus so its whatever to me
But for anyone curious, over time most if not all his close allies begin to find out that he is Kyle, so not only does Leo never see the girls of the present as someone his equal, now the girls also realise that he doesnt just talk like an old man but is one
The true romance elements are only ever present with Luna and Lysinas, within those 2 Luna is my personal favorite and who I think actually receives the most "love back" from Leo, but Lysinas is also a fan favorite and has quite a few scenes so, if its ever a harem I guess its not impossible it would be these 3 together. I honestly personally dont even consider any 3rd option a possibility and so far neither does Leo soooo
Ohh yeahh, i forgot about luna .. but based on what i read so far (manhwa only) i think their relationship more like a platonic?
Its def not!! Once Lysinas learns that Leo read her note she will be a bit more direct, but Luna is the boldest esp given her already established reckless and straightforward personality
I could tell more but I wouldnt want to spoil bomb you if thats not what you wanted
