Lwk lan and yugun felt toxic this chapter, they refused to communicate, and lan is too controlling. Like who tf r u to tell yugun what he can or can't do
1. theyre both still highschoolers, ofc ian is going to be super emotional and protective, even though it leads to him being overbearing. not to mention its in the middle of exam season, a highly stressful transitional point of life. so at their age going through this current era, its not unexpected that both of them will get severely afftected by their emotions and not have the maturity level to properly process them in the moment (though they do talk it through and reconcile at the end).
2. although Ian did come across as overly worried and overbearing, its not completely unfound. yugun has fallen ill multiple times, passed out, fainted, ending up in the school infirmary as well as the hospital. so its understandable that ian would not want something similar to happen again.
that being said, it is wrong of ian to immediately jump to saying yugun shouldnt do so and so, but i think it might be a bit narrow-minded to not look at the bigger picture; the different factors contributing to ian's worries and the fact that they are teenagers, a demographic thats more often than not swayed by emotions and impulses due to hormones
I really like how Ian's emotional outbursts are still deeply entwined with his genuine concern for Yugun. The part where he said "Im still not sorry" was funny, but i think it was also a great callback to his character development. The Ian from the past would no doubt bear the burden of his anxiety and worry. From start to finish, the story did not falter with its direction, and the events leading up to each hurdle were all relevant.
Personally, while it's true that Ian was in wrong for jumping to conclusions and belittling Yugun's experience (even if he did Not intend to do that at all), it was still a good choice from the author to show this side of their relationship. It's great because it showed us two things:
1. Their love is not only healthy, but also enduring. That even if the hurdles and issues come from Within Themselves (not just from extrinsic factors), they will find a way to compromise and forgive. Author's depiction of their love is not only realistic (seriously, teenagers fight over the stupidest things), their fights are also proof that they will last.
2. The differing ways they approached the issue highlights their own opinions and grievances. This is something that's hard to do in a romance story: giving the main pair their own autonomy. It's really impressive that the author pulled this off while only using highschoolers as characters. RomCom YA ships are often written as codependent (which isn't necessarily bad either!!), they match each other's moods, repeat the same opinions, and take the same stances. But Penkinim made sure that every time she wrote her pairings, they would be complimentary to eachother Because they love eachother, not just became they are written to have similar feelings and goals.
I really appreciate your thoughts on them, I think they are one of the best depictions of love on here. If you did write a novel, I would be honored to read it.
I agree. your point on it being a realistic teenage relationship is so right, teenage relationships are often riddled with emotional outbursts and impulsivity. i also like your point on how the relationship stayed true to itself, i failed to notice that aspect so thanks for pointing it out. that said, i don't think I'd be all that good of a writer, but i'm grateful you think so!
I think you lack understanding of media literacy, if you believe that was toxic in it then you must have a horrible understanding of relationships and dynamics. It’s 100% common for people in relationships to argue over the smallest things and not communicate right away because of the heat of it, that’s just a normal human reaction. Let alone lan is his boyfriend? So likewise it’s reasonable why he’d get worried after watching his partner fall ill so many times?
These stupid bottoms bruh
I know I’m a novel reader but how is it Taeui’s fault bro?? He did shout to ilay that he will come back but ilay couldn’t hear because of the explosions in the background and even if he did hear he wouldn’t give a shit, his only priority was taeui, ilay could care less about hid twin brother

Can sm1 recc me more traumatizing stuff like ts
Bad life if you want comic, worse explicit ones in novels lol
