Diana was a saintess who genuinely wished to do good, even until the end. She was driven crazy, but she thought that what she did for Cael was genuinely good. I've finished the story, and though Diana did wrong, the FL, despite how much I love her and Cael, was doomed from the beginning.

Diana never wished to do wrong, as we saw in her generic backstory, and her behavior after the events, I honestly think Diana needed a person in her life that didn't condone every single one of her actions but didn't demean her. No one in the story really tried helping Diana beyond speaking to Hestia and asking her to do it herself. ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭

She worked hard, and took some of her power for granted, but everyone told her she was chosen by god. Her narcissism came from YEARS of that treatment, and never being seen as wrong.

Nevertheless, God betrayed her in a cruel, sadistic way. After Hestia came, Diana lost her happy ending because God left her.

All of this is to say, I think Diana didn't deserve such a terrible fate despite being a bitch because all she needed was someone real. Not someone who glazed her, but not someone who demeaned her.

Signing off~~~ ヾ(❀╹◡╹)ノ~

I think Diana's downfall was the result of being severely narcissistic. She was good from the start like a normal white lotus FL in a novel. She presents herself as pure, innocent, kind, and helpless on the surface, but is often selfish behind the scenes. She never wishes to do wrong but she constantly clings to her upright beliefs and imposes her principles without considering others' perspectives, making her look bad to other ppl. If I may say so, she has no emotional intelligence and only lives for herself. The reason she did all those good things was bcs she was craving for good praise (chap 112). She works very hard bcs she wants everyone to treat her "special". Instead of praying to god that she wanted to help the ppl in exchange for her healing power, she benevolently prayed that she just wanted to remain "special" in every way (chap 112). Even for this selfish reason, God still bestowed her the powers assuming she uses them for the better good. She worked hard for the praise til she got the highest position, bcs again, she wanted to be "special". From the very start, her actions weren't for the good of the people, it was just for herself.

Also, I think God never betrayed her. She was blessed by God but she took it for granted. Instead of healing her ppl, she became an exclusive healer only for the imperial family. And like the last timeline, even without Hestia's intervening, her powers bound to be taken. God gave her a wonderful story and led her fate, she found Heli and Cael who loved her deeply. And thru Heli, she attained the highest position of being "special", the very prayer she wished to. It's only right for God to take it back bcs she got what she wanted. Plus she didn't even use her power for the people as she used to, bcs again, she was now in a "special" position. It's up to her how she will protect that position or if that even matters to her but she clearly took everything for granted. Her powers, the crown prince, the king, Cael and the ppl she should govern. She drowned in narcissistic behavior that resulted in losing her power then dethronement.

Things wouldn't escalate if she knew how to accept defeat but til the end, she stood by her delusional beliefs that she was righteous. Even when she was driven to the corner bcs of Hestia she had someone real ppl besides her. Lady Harmonia tried to understand her but she cut her off. Her husband Heli was trying and begging to fix their relationship bcs even though they often fight he still loves her but she cut him off too and clung to Cael's "love". And the dying king treated her as his daughter on his deathbed hoping she could change for the better. She had many opportunities to mend everything, even Hestia gave her a chances too, but she was blinded by her delusional beliefs. She could have retribution but she was also stuborn til the end.

I agree that her ending was severe, but from a political perspective, she can't remain in her role as the crown princess or be an empress bcs she couldn't even act to. She couldnt even do her duties properly, just praying for herself. It was the product of her choices, she did it to herself. If she had changed, even a little, for the better, things wouldn't have ended up that way. ╥﹏╥

@virginslut that was so wonderfully articulated I agree wholeheartedly…Diana was to put it simply a horse that didn’t drink the water that was offered then asked repeatedly why was she so thirsty…her worst enemy was no one but herself for literally taking everything for granted…if she had the FL buff for life I guess her actions wouldn’t matter…but the goddess had already given her a blessing then decided that the 2nd ML deserved to have reciprocal love as well figuring she already chose the life she wanted…greedy Diana had it all and even wanted someone else’s happiness instead of putting in any effort of her own ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭

(๑•ㅂ•)و✧ I see what you mean, I absolutely believe she shouldn’t have stayed as crown princess up until the end, and we can tell that when grandpa is dying. I think despite it being a product of her choices. She wants to be special, but she’s always maintained a childish mindset b/c she never needed not to. It was what got her so high up, after all

She ended up crushing herself in the end cs she wanted to be powerful on her own and do things in a very specific way, but this story, as much as i loved it, felt like another “Stomp on the villain without consideration they were once human too.”

I think i see that the most when cael tells hestia to drop it and forgive them, cus he no longer harbors hate, and Hestia goes on her murderous tangent, saying what is her purpose beyond getting revenge for cael? In the end, she forgave Heli, understandably so, but i think Diana should’ve gotten a bit of the same treatment. (●'◡'●)ノ
