The WEBTOON adaptation turned into more of a comedy and it’s quite different from the original novel. Many scenes were cut or changed so I personally prefer the novel. The novel is funny too but I think the two versions simply have different tones
Where did you read the novel ?
That scene in Chapter 15 of the manhwa is a subtle spoiler. The moment when the FL looks at the ML and Kailus goes along with it with an uneasy expression… But since the first half of the novel is told mainly from Richard’s POV, what we’re shown may not be the whole truth. The story looks like a comedy at first, but from around chapter 80 onward, the novel goes completely wild, with twist after twist until the very end. Every character is insane in their own way.
Everyone is unhinged, twisted, and psychologically messed up. The biggest reveal is that the regressors aren’t limited to just one or two characters; there are actually far more of them than you’d ever expect.
I’m afraid that if people wait for the translation to come out chapter by chapter, many of them will probably drop it halfway. But since I read the whole thing in one go, I actually made it all the way to the end. Sometimes I even forgot this was supposed to be a BL. The main genres honestly feel more like fantasy, isekai and psychological
This might be a major spoiler and almost a full reveal, but knowing this may help you decide whether you want to keep reading. Richard truly loves Daphne because his character and his “role” were created that way. The reason the story never truly ends is because Richard himself is the one who refuses to let her go.
All of the main characters have regressed to the point where they’ve broken away from the personalities and roles originally written for them. They chose not to follow the script anymore. But the reason the story keeps repeating and refuses to end is ultimately because Richard can’t stop loving Daphne.
Daphne is the only one who isn’t originally from this world. She is an outsider, a foreign existence that slipped into this world. She is a reader whose soul entered the story and took over the FL’s body. There is no yuri in this story. Daphne is practically another main character who remains important until the very end.
Some readers might feel uncomfortable because the author may not seem to portray the women in the story very favorably. However, when you look at the male characters individually, none of them are truly good either. That’s why, like I said, everyone in this story is crazy and psychologically messed up. The least insane(or not?) person is probably the protagonist’s father, the king.
As I mentioned, this story is truly twists beyond twists, and every character’s love is intense, extreme, and completely unhinged, just like how Richard would do anything for Daphne.
And… Richard only remembers regressing for the 49th time, but the truth is that the story we are reading right now is only one of countless timelines that have occurred. This timeline will collapse as well, and the story will continue through countless other timelines, both past and present. Before Richard became aware of the truth, there had already been thousands, even tens of thousands of regressions carried out by other characters, including Daphne and Kailus.
The reason Richard became aware of the truth was because Daphne was the one who told him that they were living inside a novel. When Richard became aware of the “truth” of this world during his first regression, that was what turned him into a regressor. What I mean is that once any character learns that this world is actually a novel, they are no longer just characters following the script. They become self-aware and realize that they are regressors.
I haven’t talked about Daphne much, but don’t underestimate her. Her role in this story is far more important than it seems. She is one of the most significant characters and… perhaps the most unexpected and unpredictable one.
And my favorite character goes to………… Wilmar! Should I say more about him? He’s definitely not a good person, and he’s just as unhinged as everyone else in this story. But somehow, I still ended up feeling sorry for him. I couldn’t help but root for him and want to see him succeed.

The extras/side stories were the best thing that happened after that hell. We finally got to see what happened between the emperor, empress, and wilmar ^^ and some cute moments with richard and kailus
Was almost about to drop this but your spoilers made me stay. But wdym Richard can't stop loving dapne? Isn't this a bl? Isn't he suppose to fall for kailus at some point of the time?
Because Richard is stuck to his role as a sub male lead. So his love for her was genuine. He falls in love with CP gradually. He and the CP suffered so much bro And she went full psycho and became evil. Because she was never the OG FL the story could not be wrapped up no matter how hard she tried. But it also could not end because Richard loved her from the original story. But once he saw she wasn't the same girl he once loved he slowly started to lose love for her and love the CP. So once he fully loved the CP and there wasn't a shred of love left for her she gets destroyed by the story itself and they hug each other and promise to chose each other in the next life if they're lucky to be born again because the story is destroyed and a new one is being created. Daphne may have a lot of screen time or be mentioned frequently because she plays an important role in the story, but the story is still mainly driven by Kailus and Richard. She’s basically the “final boss” of the story, the main problem they have to deal with. If this were a manhwa I feel like she probably wouldn’t appear that often except in important scenes where she shows up to create problems and move the story forward.
But personally, I think this novel simply tells its story and develops the relationship in its own way. The romance doesn’t disappear. It’s just that the way the story is told changes. The first half is mainly from Richard’s POV, while the second half slowly reveals the hidden truths, the past experiences, and Kailus’s perspective.
I intentionally left out spoilers about Kailus and Daphne’s true intentions because I wanted people to stay curious and keep reading haha. Actually, compared to Daphne and Kailus, Richard has regressed far fewer times…

This is just my personal interpretation, but I think it took time for him to accept that the original Daphne no longer existed and finally let her go. Richard’s love as the second male lead was partly something predetermined by the “story,” and it was also something that defined who he was from the very beginning.
Even when he already knew the outcome of every timeline, he still chose to repeat the same actions so that the original storyline, where Daphne would eventually come to him, could happen again. He would confess his love even though he already knew he would be rejected and end up heartbroken. He would allow himself to be abused by his family while waiting for Daphne to come to him, even though he was no longer afraid and was strong enough to fight back.
Because Richard was still clinging to the storyline, he refused to break away from the role of the second male lead. And part of it may also have been because of Kailus himself. Kailus kept erasing Richard’s memories because he wanted to protect him and keep him safe. He didn’t want Richard to break down or suffer from the truth, because Daphne is an unpredictable existence in every timeline. And that was exactly why Kailus made that decision. He knew what Richard was like and how far he would go for the sake of Daphne’s name. Wasn’t that the very thing that started this whole story?
I think this is also one of the reasons why the story continued looping Richard was still clinging to Daphne. That’s why the word “stuck” fits every character, even Daphne herself. Everyone was trapped in an endless loop, and every character was trying to fix things in their own way.
Sometimes, as readers, we might feel frustrated, like the story isn’t moving forward. But maybe that was part of the experience. It allowed us to understand the feelings of the characters trapped in the loop. We ended up feeling the same frustration and desperation they felt.
Daphne went insane because honestly, the readers would probably go insane too lol She regressed more than anyone else, and even her suicide became a form of rest, a way to escape everything. Richard also reached a point where he lost hope and chose suicide as a way to rest. This is also why Kailus kept erasing Richard’s memories. He wanted Richard to know nothing about the truth so he could remain “happy” instead of being destroyed by reality.
That’s why I say every character is crazy. Going through the same cycle hundreds or even thousands of times must be unbelievably hopeless and exhausting, especially when you keep trying to save the people you love and change their fate, only to fail every single time.
Even Kailus killed Richard in many loops It was his own way of protecting him because he couldn’t leave Richard alone in that world. So he would let Richard die before him, then follow him into the next regression himself. Richard also killed Kailus in many timelines.
At that point, they weren’t afraid of death anymore because they knew they would meet again in the next loop. (Honestly, everyone in this story completely lost their minds haha.)

I’m starting to forget some details because so much happened, but throughout the story I could really feel the bond between Kailus and Richard slowly forming. Their relationship developed so gradually that even Richard himself, and honestly some of us readers didn’t realize when those feelings had quietly turned into something deeper. Lol.
Most of the time, Kailus was the one who searched for Richard first. Their starting points and the timing of each regression were different in every timeline. Sometimes the same events repeated hundreds of times, while other times things changed because of the butterfly effect.
Eventually, they even seemed to have an unspoken meeting place. Richard would often choose to end his life there, and Kailus would always find him. Before Richard made his decision, Kailus would come to him and talk about various things, often sharing stories and memories from previous loops. Sometimes, those stories would make their time together last longer. Other times, Richard wouldn’t be interested and would simply end his own life after listening. (While reading this tragedy, I somehow found myself laughing at how insane they were. I would probably go insane too lol.) Kailus watched the same thing happen over and over again. He no longer tried to stop Richard. He simply stayed by his side and followed him in the end.
Eventually, Richard became the one waiting for Kailus to come find him every time. Then one day, Kailus didn’t come.
Richard had already planned to die anyway, but instead, he became worried. For the first time, he was the one who went looking for Kailus.
Crazy? Absolutely. Full of twists? Definitely. But somehow I also found them really cute. I think I went insane along with them hahaha
There are actually many sweet moments hidden inside such a stressful and tragic story. It’s just that Richard had to finally accept the truth and let Daphne go. Only then could the story truly end. No one was clinging to the role that the story had given them anymore. In the end, the original story completely collapsed. The storyline centered around Daphne lost its meaning and disappeared, allowing a new story to begin.
After going through all the stressful and intense events in the main story, my heart started fluttering again because of Wilmar and Lios’s side story. Honestly, I really wished the side stories had included more sweet and playful moments for every couple, especially more moments between Richard and Kailus too
I really miss the atmosphere from the first half of the novel, when it was full of moments that made me giggle
Uhm, Wilmar is also a regressor! He doesn’t have as many significant scenes as the MCs, but somehow he ended up learning something about the soul that entered the novel. I don’t even know where to put this part because I’m seriously starting to forget some details fr He eventually became an ally of Kailus and Richard in their final confrontation against Daphne.

could you give me all the spoilers possible about Kailus and Richard relationship? in a chapter Richard seemed to see Kailus crying for him not wanting to be separated away so even before all the events in the novels happened did they had a relationship of some kind (love) before Kailus decided to start erasing Richard's memories?
So from what I understood Kailus is aware the whole time this story we're reading in the novel/manhwa is a story and he's only acting to protect Richard? I would like more about his POV.
