Sexual assault and rape is entirely different from each other. Rape is more serious and if you were to look back at the scene, the wolf technically didn't rape our uke since our uke took the initiative to seduce him meaning, he gave his consent. You even said it yourself,"manipulation", our mc kind of manipulated the wolf due to his own past trauma. As for murder topic, remember that the plot ain't your typical love story so you really can't blame it from having murder scenes. It's just like saying, a murim or martial art story also contains rape, murder, harem but does it really matter since it's a plot? The story here is almost similar to an omega verse, where the strongest overpowers the weak. (Alpha - beta - omega / chief wolf - guard dog - frost sheep) killing is not that uncommon.
My reason is that you can't really blame for having any of them when that's the plot of the story, especially when is mystery genre. You shouldn't have read it when there's clear warning saying that there will be things like blood and sexual assault scenes.
