Reading the chapters so far, my understanding is that the king’s daughter was meant to go 12 -13 years ago but she was sickly and could not travel so the MC said he would go in her place and when he got their he was surprise that the ML was a child, he spend 3 years before he was kicked out and during that 3 years he treat him as a child and protected him and told him once he was with him he should live as a child because he will protect him. There was always assassinations and poison attempts towards the ML, just like at their first wedding that was not completed because Tei the MC knock the ML drink over because he saw it was poisoned. The author did not stay too long on the back story because I think this is my opinion I could be wrong they are showing the bond between the ML and MC.
I don’t agree how he sent the MC character back home but I understand why he did it…and it was to protect him because the other brothers know that the ML and MC became close and he would have been his weakness that is why he sent him back and with protection as his brothers would have tried something. Fast forward 10 years later, he is grown up and want to connect with his beloved that he missed so much but the MC still see him as that child so, the MC is confused and hurt, ML still need to explain to him why he was sent back.
Lastly the king instructed Tei to paved the way for his daughter to meet Shuraka at the banquet but the ML clock what was happening and made it clear that he was here for his beloved bride and he intended to take him home. He wants to renew the alliance because he realised that the MC still sees him as the child he was years ago…The top is a devoted top and will shut everyone else down except his beloved.
