Its about two brothers, I think one is called Ten. But the oldest; I think; goes to a gay bar one night and sleeps with a guy he meets there. well it turns out to be one of his brothers sex friends. well turns out Ten is obsessed with his brother, and goes nuts when I finds out his brother is sleeping with some guy.

Why is it in most shoujo manga the girl is bitching about not having a boyfriend in 16 years...when said girl is 16 years old. Cry me a damn river.

Then there is the "Oh you raped me, but since you love me and I love you it ok" ordeal and then they have it happen to them again by the same person...ugh...idiots. yup they must really love you....

just felt like bitching...does anyone have anything that gets on there nerves about manga characters

It's nice to see that somebody else who doesn't understand the nature of most shoujo manga, I get that it's all supposed to be sparkly and fluffy and happy endings but ... why accept someone who raped you because they 'loved' you.

Unfortunately though it's one of those don't hate the plot, hate the mangaka for presenting it this way. Sometimes when a mangaka presents a character you perceive that character differently from how the mangaka wanted it to come across, hell everybody probably perceives them in different ways.

In some cases though I can totally understand where your point of view is coming from dude. I rarely read shoujo I'm more of a Yaoi/Shounen-Ai kinda person ... Shoujo just doesn't float my goat whatsoever.

I am generally appaled by dumb shoujo heroines. "Dumb kids are cuter" really doesn't warm up to me. I wasn't Einstein reincarnated myself, but even in the throes of puberty I could at least use my brain occaisonally.

And I really don't care for characters who solely consist of "I need a boyfriend". Dear me, how did you survive until now? Isn't there anything else? I mean, alright, go get them... but how about your own goals, interests, hobbies?

Agree, I think the same too! Most shoujo girls r weak, annoying n crazy about love too much! That's one reason I read yaoi, hee!

me too..i only like nadame cantabile..which i didnt read the manga only watched the live action..XP i prefer yaoi..

@morcheeba Amen! You said all I think about shoujo heroines. That was the reason why I totally dropped Mairunovich. The damn girl only thinks about finding a freaking bf! <o>

Shinonome is right. Depends on how the author portrays the characters, though there is a fair share of dumb shoujo girls with a predilection for psychopaths for some reason. I used to read those but I just got fed up with the lackluster plots and the hard-to-believe Stockholm syndromes.
Don't drop the shoujo. There are some good authors around that can portray a good girl. I'm currently reading Hirunaka no Ryuusei and Love so Life and despite the very slow romance, I'm kinda feeling that I found very good shoujo where the heroines are scatterbrains but with hearts. And no rape so far! xD

Oh, and MissKitty, sounds to me you've encountered some Shinjo Mayu XD

Im glad Im not the only one who thinks shoujo heriones are idiotic fluff heads when it comes to the idea of being in love.

I can't deal with crybaby characters or charachters with sub-zero confidence. Because sometimes it would take them like a 1 min to clear up misunderstandings, but they rather ignor the shit out of their boyfriends.
Then I'm also not a fan of rape. But what I think is even worse in that aspect are uke who keep saying "no" when they actually want to do it (e.g. http://www.mangago.me/read-manga/mankai_darling/). Because at one point even the seme thinks he's going too far and stops sleeping with them. Then these uke wonder what is wrong and ask themselves if the seme doesn't like them anymore. I mean what is wrong with them?
