bold of you to assume that i think its ass cuz it doesn't have abuse. the characters are not written properly, they have no personality other than being a stereotypical bottom or top, they are so passive. there's no plotline but somehow their relationship works out magically. the time, place, themes, plot, design, troupes, all of them too cliche. i read this manga 4 times, each time forgetting that i already did because it was mid. i don't hate plotless fluff, in fact it's one of my fav genres, i just think this one was extra boring. don't ever accuse me of romantising abusive shit just because i didn't enjoy a stereotypical, unoriginal, 5-minute-read manga that isn't done-right where the only interesting thing is the cover art, smartass.

Idk why you felt the need to try to put other people down for their tastes just because you didn’t like the story. If you wanted to voice your opinion , negative or not, you could just leave a review and move on.

It’s literally so pointless to try and gatekeep being a fujoshi because it’s not a test. Some people like more westernized shounen ai type stories like heartstopper and others will like darker BL’s like checkmate. My point is that you’re not a better fujoshi or BL fan for liking the latter

idk if you people lack literacy skills or just bored af. like i said i like plotless fluff, it's one of my favorite genres and i prefer if it has fewer chapters. i don't like checkmate either, my idea of a well-written bl isn't necessary abusive or dark romance. in fact if a bl has triggering or alarming elements (rape, manipulation, abuse etc.) in it, i drop it immediately or skip and don't read at all. it's ok to like heartstopper, i don't dislike it because it western, but you can't deny that it's the most mainstream bl ever and you can't form an accurate thought of whatcs a peak bl with only reading heartstopper, it was a metaphor yk. i'm not gatekeeping fujoism, wtf would i do that??? i'm not in a competition of who's the best fujoshi, i'm not that unemployed. it's ok if you enjoyed this one, good for you, i'm just saying a story this shallow isn't the best one of it's genre, it's overrated and i'm allowed to criticize it, that's the whole point of the comment section. if don't agree, dislike my comment and move on.

I never said you couldn’t criticize the story, I’m saying that it’s weird to insult someone’s taste because you dislike a story. If you just wanted to critique the story then you can do that without putting down other stories and preferences because you think the story is overrated or bad. People can and will like different stories.

Honestly I can’t speak about my opinion on HeartStopper because I never read it, but I do agree that this manga specifically was a little plain and boring for my tastes.

My issue is that in your og comment you’re saying that if someone has mainstream BLs like this as their favorite then they have bad taste and aren’t experienced readers. You acting like someone isn’t a true BL fan because they read stories that you deem basic or too mainstream is quite literally gatekeeping.

I also get the idea that it’s hard to understand a genre if you’re only reading the mainstream, but you didn't say that at all in your og comment.
