Well, for me, a happy ending doesn’t necessarily mean that the MC and ML have to end up together. Sometimes, a happy ending can simply mean finding peace within yourself—peace in your heart and in your mind.
In Mok’s case, I think he needs to learn how to be happy on his own instead of making Nanjo the center of his entire existence. He needs to find contentment, self-love, and a sense of security within himself, especially after everything he went through growing up.
I’m not saying Mok did nothing wrong, because he did. Nanjo has every right to feel betrayed and angry with him.
But I also don’t think Mok’s suffering means he deserves to destroy himself. Understanding why he became so attached to Nanjo doesn’t excuse what he did, but it does make his current breakdown more understandable, considering his history of abandonment and rejection.
That’s why I’m not entirely convinced that Nanjo coming back to Mok would automatically be a happy ending. If Nanjo returns now, while Mok is starving himself, drinking, suicidal, and waiting outside his penthouse every day just to see him, how do we know that Nanjo’s decision would actually come from love? It could easily come from guilt, pity, or feeling responsible for what happened to Mok.
And if that’s the reason Nanjo comes back, then I don’t think that would be a genuinely happy ending either.
If they do eventually get back together, I’d want it to happen after both of them have had the chance to heal and grow. Nanjo should come back because he genuinely chooses Mok, not because he feels obligated to save him. And Mok should be in a place where he can choose Nanjo because he truly wants him, not because he feels like he cannot live without him.
Honestly, I’d even be okay if they don’t end up together. Maybe Mok eventually finds a different kind of love with someone who can love him the way he needs to be loved, reassure him, and give him the security and trust he has always wanted. Or maybe he learns to find that security within himself first.
For me, a happy ending isn’t about who ends up with whom. It’s about whether the characters eventually find peace, healing, self-love, and a life they’re genuinely happy with.
And if Mok eventually reaches a point where he can look back at Nanjo and say, “I loved you, but I don’t need you anymore,” I’d consider that a happy ending too.
Because Mok shouldn’t have to destroy himself just to finally be chosen.

So basically remember when Josh called Dane about the extra job of kidnapping Grayson? So Dane decided to change his mind and goes with the plan. This resulted in him kidnapping Grayson in a helicopter I think? But then he realized Grayson is more crazy than he thought and Grayson decided to jump out the helicopter to land in a private home that Ashely built to trap Koi in if he needs to. Dane ended up following Grayson and then Grayson locked them both inside the home and they can't leave unless Grayson wants to. The home also blocks the trackers inside the millers' bodies so Josh can't track them even if he tried to. Anyways I think that's all, srry if there's misinformation, it's been like a month or 2 since I finished the novel
