After reading some of the most delusional apologia for twisted, sadistic, abusive, and manipulative behavior in other series (because the MC gets a redemption arc and is, like, super sorry about it), the comments here about Param's mistake are pretty funny. Folks here seem ready to send Param to the pits of hell. No room for redemption here, I guess. I suppose you only get a redemption arc if you were ignored by your rich, perfectionist parents and had to live in your older brother's shadow. Or I suppose you have to do something *really* heinous.
I thought it was a decent story. Sure it was a little contrived, but that's the genre, folks. Characters are gonna make rash, self-destructive decisions to heighten the drama.
