I am trying to give this a chance to turn around; but it really has a strong and disturbing tone. "Domestic" violence is not something to be toyed with.
I see no suggestion of such. Can you point me to the manga pages you seem to have added on to this?
Chapter 1: pages 18 & 19
Chapter 2: pages 13 & 14
Chapter 3: page 12
These are the actual incidents, but as we read the story, they remember more. For the "victim", acceptance had become an accepted norm; which is VERY common in domestic abuse situations. For the abuser, there is remorse and a self aware lack of control, also common. This is not kink, which would be mutual consent, it is on the edge of abuse and I am reading in hopes that the abuser can gain control so it can become a good love story; one where love overcomes a tragic and dangerous set of situations.
The story concept and main characters are great; but there is way too much negative stereotyping. Being gay does not mean being a constant sexual predator. I think the bar staff and customers can be easily toned down on the stereotyping, and become more connected and supportive of the main characters.
It's about time! Now to the good stuff.
