honestly going through such a tough time right now, and the content in this manwha is so tough and painful. but even through their deep pain they still love and I think that says a lot about people. loving is the easiest emotion, not always granted from the people who give birth to us, but we can find it from the people around us. to see two people find each other when they needed each other the most makes me feel like no matter how this ends, that the moment of the enjoying each others company was beautiful and nothing like I have ever seen in a manwha. such a raw and pure love, two deeply broken people seeing each other for who they are without any pre perception. im scared to see the end..

This guy gets to be internally homophobic and have absolutely no development as a character no redeeming qualities whatsoever. God I was reading this story through updates since 2023. I finally re read it and I have to say such a gorgeous story. I mean them meeting as children was such a fictional and funny unrealistic coincidence but nonetheless cute. Just looking where Seo-An started with his social anxiety to really being able to be a rock for Woo Won in a hard time is insane. Like the roles reversed, Woo Won was always comfortable being in his head all the time, over analyzing his own feelings to the point where he didn’t acknowledge them and lived mellow. Where as Seo An was processing his own feelings through therapy and needed Woo Won to be his rock and he truly could because he wasn’t ready to unpack his own emotions. And finally when the tramautic situation with his dad occurred he had something to lose and someone to have his feelings mean something to. It’s so beautiful when you live your whole life feeling like your life and emotions are insignificant and what you do is small, but the moment he handed Seo-An the umbrella it changed Seo-An’s whole life which in turn changed his life that his emotions do hold weight for someone else and that he really does have an impact on someone else’s life deeply. Truly reading those early scenes I felt something. I mean I got frustrated with Woo Won running away but he really did spend his whole life avoiding his emotions up until that point and sometimes metaphorically we need someone to smack us back into reality which is why im not too mad about the punch but (abuse is never tolerated) Anywho, what a gem and perfectly paced story. Honestly BL’s these days tend to lack depth and storytelling but this one I could feel the emotion in all the internal and external dialogue. It made all the build up from friends to lovers that more wonderful.
Seo-an is like everything you want in a man. He has issues himself yet can reassure Woo won and ease his anxiety.
Just say this story is too complex for some people to understand. Their relationship is unique, like it’s not like they don’t react for a reason, idk how you guys can’t pick up the reason they both act this way is because of their trauma, if y’all need more backstory to Riftan read his POV. It explains how he grew up and his fear of abandonment and death of loved one. It doesn’t justify some of his outburst but it gives it some meaning. Maxi on the other hand the whole book is about her. Her just defying Riftan in itself is growth, she defied him despite their being a risk he would stop loving her (that would never happen) she doesn’t know that, yet she still risked it all to be with him and anger him. It’s all a miscommunication between them, which they will resolve. It will ultimately lead to the most amazing character growth from Maxi and Riftan will follow shortly after in Book 2. I’m going to be honest the world building is lackluster in Book 2 but the character growth and development is there. The characters make a huge change in themselves. The word building is mid. Like so many plot holes in terms of the wars and political aspect but I still encourage to keep reading because I loved Riftan and Maxi and all the side characters that add to their life.
