For those curious we’re now a little over half way through the novel.
A brief overview of what’s to come: maxi will end up leaving to become a mage due to some circumstances, and will be gone for I believe 4-5 years. After 3ish years she’ll end up going on an expedition in order to return to Riftan sooner, but it ends up being another war with the monsters. Riftan and his knights gett involved to protect/help her, and then there’s constant up and down communication with them. I loved seeing Maxi grow this 2nd half, she becomes a lot more confident and skilled. (=・ω・=)

I honestly feel Maxi has grown the entire story actually, Notice that through out the story she tries to communicate and tries to do her best for others and what she wants. Its only that stays the same for a while

It stays the same for a while and from what I've heard from spoilers he even dismisses her when she leaves for the Mage tower saying he's not going to miss her. So honestly I feel Maxi has grown A whole lot. A lot of people like to blame and call her annoying for going back with her Father. But what Choice did she have. These people are forgetting He's a Duke and he can find any underhanded way to bring her back and to his home, and even someone opposes, they probably wouldn't any real good reason to refute him taking her back because, from their perspective He's a loving doting Father who probably only wanted her to recuperate in a more familiar environment. And Maxi by that point was so broken down she couldn't thibk Rationally on how to not go back with him. And I despise how some people don't understand this
