Its cause Tapas is getting consolidated into Kakao. So they dont have operations in North America anymore and it is all focused in their home country.

Its so they can protect their stories from getting pirated. Japan and Korea and going to have much stricter laws now to prevent piracy. Its already so hard to find Japanese manga raws. Now Korean manhwas are going to be the same.Sad day for us who read on pirated sites.
It’s not just about piracy though. They want to exclude foreigners. Tapas and webtoon are English officials. Most of the story is on there for free. There’s no money being made on it. I just read a whole 208 chapters for free before it started asking for points per chapter (211 chapters total). It’s not about the piracy since it’s not about the money. It’s control. It’s a sad day for both pirated sites and official sites. Webtoon is now gonna have authors join their ranks again because tapas and webtoon are competitors. Hopefully we won’t be too disrupted by this but it is frustrating. As for Japanese raws, I only know of a site where you pay but I paid like £7 for 6 volumes. It’s very cheap.
