I've read this story multiple times and the situation with his mom pisses me off every time. She deserved so much worse. Not only did she tell everyone her son was dead, but then she acted like a victim about abandoning her child in a horribly abusive situation. She saw the family attack him after her other son died and then just... left him there. I don't blame her for leaving and wanting better for herself, but she got off too easy.

IKRRR i just hated his mom, uke suffered so much from a blame that it's not his feom the beginning. partly thankful for the aunt for making me the mom remember the past. I'm so glad they didn't show their reunion as mother and son

Idk man. I know custody stuff is different in Japan, but he was old enough that his mom still could have stayed in contact. As someone with a difficult relationship with a parent I just don't like how he's pressuring him to go see his mom. She disappeared and he hasn't heard from her in years, why should he be burdened with this? I feel like they just glossed over that. Because of course Fukami regrets what happened with his parents, but his situation is totally different.
