Gooooddd, this manga has simple premise of friends to lovers and yet the execution and their matching dynamic make this feel so special. As someone who always fall in love with a friend I can say this is so realistic. Being around someone so naturally without caring how you might look to them bcs they already see your every weakness and those feelings of comfort and trust slowly transform into love. It can be devastating if it's one sided BUT if it's working out you get to be together with someone who has always been accepted everyside of you since a long time ago. So beautiful.
The frustation & awkwardness when they realize their relationship and how they view each other starting to change. Otoumi yearning to touch Yukari, and Yukari can't get enough of kissing Otoumi after he did it once. Watching their relationship transform from trust and comfort into lust make me burst with excitement.
Anyway I have reread this manga for like 20 times. All time favourite hands down.
I'm crying everybody mad in the comment lmao. Personally i enjoyed the story because it has a very realistic touch to it about moving on, however i do feel the story would be waayyy better if the author give more a moment of clarity to Souma about his feelings to Wataru. Like make him miss Wataru or being jealous etc. The flaw of this manga is that the author didn't explore much about what Souma is feeling, it's like the author is confused and indecisive when they write Souma, like why would he invite his-ex to meet his current BF???
Anyway I hope there is sequel to this, where the focus is on Souma. Because I kinda like the way the author write the interaction, it's not too dramatic/cartoonish like how it was usually in many BL manga.
It's getting so boring that a lot of toxic yaoi only rely around sexual assault and revenge porn. That's why I'm so happy I finally found BL with actual complex toxic dynamic like this. The last time I feel this excited over BL was when I read The Pawn's Revenge.
Their dynamic was so interesting. The way Sayo supposed to have the upper hand as a vampire and yet Yamadera who is just regular guy get him and even other vampire on a leash!!! He is truly batshit insane. Also I love how the author want us to sympathize with Yamadera by revealing he is like this bcs he is victim of abuse + neglect, while still aknowledging the fact that he is a still very much a piece of shit.
Sayo has a heart of gold and Yamadera who is aware of it taking advantage of his kindness to do whatever he want in order to fulfill his creepy obsession with vampire. This mentally ill twink literally turn this sexy old-man vampire into his dog.
Do Sayo deserve someone better??? YES, but do i want Yamadera's insanity corrupt Sayo?? ALSO YES!!!

Good amount of fluff, healthy communication, straigtforward without misunderstanding, discussion abt their sexuality (i know it's brief but i'm happy it's there), No BL stereotype, ALSO ESTABLISHED RELATIONSHIP FOCUS!! i really wish many best friends to lovers or classmate to lovers manga is as simple as this and focused more on the story after they are already dating.
