I don't see how he's never felt the need to escape his father, unless he has reason for him to leave him alive which would mostly be like he couldn't be financially be able to support himself without his father, but why not just try to take part time job to earn?? I'm not saying it's easy to earn money at all, but didn't he say he'd rather die by Soho's arms rather than go back home?? If he really despises going back home or to his father at least he could've tried to do that or like report him for being abusive at least. And before ya say father will go after him, uhh well i doubt he would really care to really since he's really only focused on drinking and don't really care about his own son, that's just my own take. And we didn't get a backstory about his mother at all, or even like text her or talk to her or anything?? Because didn't he like forcibly taken by his dad so I doubt the mom really despises him or if she really did love him and assumingly knew the father's drinking tendencies, she would've at least tried to help or fight for his son or maybe if they had a relative to take care of alec. Instead he was left to his abusive father to a countryside. Obviously won't end good at all. I don't judge since mum might have hated him or at least secretly? To just send him off with his abusive father even if it was forced. Alec didn't also rlly mentioned his mom being toxic at all so i dont know just my thought. I feel like there is alot of plotholes to this story imand didn't really delve much to like their back stories which is aight, not like they obliged to but it really just left alot of mysteries and like i feel the story is too damn rushed for me to be happy for them i guess?? Cuz alec fell in love with him outta nowhere , and soho i have no idea when he "wanted" alec, or maybe that's his way of saying like things or people he care for because he grew up in a toxic household and not able to feel emotions or even had the opportunity to. Well that's my understanding at least, still confused with his thoughts still. Anyways death of father was not necessarily unnecessary but there was another solution to killing that could have been tried ? but respect to their decision i do get why it was done, since maybe it could be thought as him "deserving" it after what he's done to him, or at least made alec feel free or get the freedom he deserves and indeed he got at the end of the story (can be done via escaping btw) along with soho but yes. I've never yapped this much bouta story before since i only really ever read a story then go, i dont like story i go, i like story i go, i like spoiler i read comment i go. But maybe I'm just a little bitter of BEAUTIFUL artstyle being wasted on this story ngl never seen artstyle as beautiful as this in a min i wanna read more of other stories with this artist ngl PLEASE LMK IF U MADE IT THIS FAR. But eitherway I don't hate or love the story, just left feeling meh, confused and unsatisfied.
