What I got is Grayson is a sociopath/psychopath who doesn't register feelings properly but he really wants to help Chase, he's just crazy and can't see that he's hurting him with his ways. But he's not going out of his way to hurt him, he's not the antagonist.

Chase is tormented and hates his rut because he's afraid of forcing someone, and doesn't want to change partners just for the sake of releasing pheromones, he's the best out of all the other alphas in this universe (≧∀≦)

Na that's pretty much exactly what my foreshadowing spider sense was telling me. He and the dad were close for unknown reasons. This intense fixation on how loving his parents relationship was, that his dad *never* took a mistress. Talking about taking that rabbit home because nobles find disfigured things amusing. (He has so many scars himself) Pretending to be someone he is not, yet very easily playing the role of a servant. The description about all the types of love stories in the north. All of his older brothers have turned out to be untrustworthy trash for the family. All points right at a revenge plot born of being sexually used and abused by MCs father in the past.

I suspect the brothers resented their youngest brother for getting so much of his mother's love and blame him for her death, so they sent him off to be married to the ugly, used up, disfigured plaything of their father's as a form of sick and twisted revenge on their baby brother.

It is unfortunate that the innocent MC is being caught in all of this cross fire.

Now that you've said it, it does make a lot of sense. And tbh the mc's brother's remind me of chase Miller's brothers from kiss me if you can. All trash
But still, it's still confusing on why he would volunteeraly be the bottom, like- weren't you abused, my guy?
