I know the feeling of a bl not ending the way I thought it would, but tbh this one was hella good. Often bl stories revolving around a messed up person literally ignore the story behind them and just get straight to rape/harrasment/bdsm. But this one was so awesome.
I loved every page of it and it wasn't even that overbearing. We all have good and bad sides, we all have done things we aren't proud of. But sometimes people forget what they really wanna do and end up being indulged in the things that give them momentary happiness. The same was with Tatsumi. He thought he could justify his actions thanks to his past and feel good about it, but he never thought of changing his ways until the pure guy showed up. Tatsumi could have ignored him but instead he was forced to reconsider his actions and start over. He even gave himself up to the police. I mean who would do that if they were not a changed person?? It is difficult to have lived a messed up past, but it is even more difficult to have let it go.
I get why people don't want the MC to end up with Tatsumi, but in my opinion, whether they end up together or not is not even the main issue. The fact that Tatsumi could change for his own sake is what made this manga awesome.
Sometimes you don't need to rely on others to point out your faults. Sometimes you just discover yourself and realise what is there that you need to change about you. And that is what Tatsumi was able to achieve. And that is what has made his character one of the realest ones that I have read.
