I have been reading the novel as well, but the mention of this "kid" was not a part of mcs story until this point. It is not bad dont gwt me wrong but I wish we had seen him at least try to find this kid at some point in the story... Lore seems kinda patchy
He said he searched for him so that means he did try and find him throughout the story it's just not all that interesting to show on screen per se. I mean wtf we gon get with him going to a detective agency and them kicking him out? Albeit that seems counterintuitive since it'd be a job. But whatever. I can't blame him for not finding anything since the kid is our ml and his info was probs kept secured af
There is literally so few mentions of him recalling the kid, I just said if we had seen him mourning at least it would be better for the integrity of the plot. It just feels a bit "inserted", the novel was like this as well.
