Shoutout to Rin22 for mentioning this on High School Musical Genius.. (≧▽≦) I ended up not reading that one and went here instead. And boy am I glad I did!!!
But why does Hokyung remind me so much of Ran to Haiiro's Makoto? (well, the adult ver at least)( ꈍᴗꈍ). I needed 100 chapters more for this just like I needed 150 for Moon Land ╥﹏╥
It is easy to see why this wouldn't appeal to some readers, what with its realistic (to a certain degree) character designs which most would see as "ugly". But guys, these ugly mugs are just what the physical world looks like, ahaha. You really just had to call us all "ugly".
But then again, wanting to see the usual bishounens and bishoujos abound in a manga is understandable. After all, if they truly wanted to see ugly, realistic faces they merely have to look at their siblings' countenance. Hence, realistically drawn figures does not appeal much to people looking for something more than its story.
For those used who grew up reading seinen or the mature shounen titles, seeing these "ugly" faces doesn't really deter one looking for good stories. Most of these realistic manga tend to stick to these kind of art when they want readers to focus on the storyline. And fun fact, most of them are incredibly well written. I can't remember the faces of some of the leads of certain titles but I, for sure, still dream about their stories.
So read on if you somehow went past ten chapters, and I sure hope you find the experience worthwhile. (▰˘◡˘▰)
