No one is normalising rape, not all rape in stories is unnecessary in some it can be a useful plot device(like this current fic as here the rape was done by a villain the act was to characterise the villain as an abhorrent character who we should not sympathise with.).

When I read a bl, I always read the comment first to see if their is any theme that I need to be aware of like abuse, rape, incest, pedophelia,.. I can read those stories but only if it’s written responsibly and not thrown into the story just for the fun of it. So when I saw the original comment I really though It was one more story, where raped would be normalized…that’s why, you saying what you said was upsetting, cause it looked like you were just accepting that rape in bl is there and if we don’t like it’s too bad nothing can be done about it, we should just learn to deal with it and shut up. I probably shouldn't butt in, but as a novel reader, I just want to say there actually wasn't any rape scene to begin with.
The manhwa completely changed the whole tone of the story to have more "smut," and it went completely downhill when the artist added this sudden rape scene. If I remember correctly, the MC and ML didn't even have their first time until the epilogue as well. The weird addition of when the MC was masturbating while in the same room as the ML - even that didn't happen in the novel either.
