i think he did it for him though, like he was couraging him for being more honest with himself. it wasn't like the usual blackmail we used to see in yaoi

Offense is rarely given as often as it is taken. What may be meant as encouragement, when it is unexpected, can be viewed as an insult. This is how Tobari, and you, viewed Inui's actions at the start. However, it is not until the end of the story that we, the readers, understand Inui's intentions. Inui liked Tobari's bravery in going out in drag from the beginning. Not as a way to scorn or ridicule him, but because Inui genuinely admired Tobari for being himself. He also liked him from that point too, but didn't realize it. That is why he says, "So, that's what it was.", when he was punched by Tobari. He is talking to himself about his own feelings. That was his "Ah ha!" moment. It finally clicked in his head why he approached Tobari at the start and couldn't leave him alone. From the outset, Inui never had any ill intentions toward Tobari. But, because Tobari, an you, EXPECTED ridicule and scorn, that is all he could see when Inui approached him. When we can't look beyond our own insecurities and prejudices we often find that people are exactly as we expect. Not because that is truly the case, but because we can't see beyond our misconceptions and we assume that all their actions are guided by what we are expecting. So, even when they are obviously being kind, we see it as some backhanded scheme to hurt us. Tobari assumed that EVERYONE is prejudice against cross-dressing. That in itself is also prejudice. He was even prejudiced agaist himself, to the point of denying who he truly was. Until he could set aside his prejudice, he couldn't accept kindness from others and he also couldn't accept himself. That is the theme of this manga. Prejudice comes in all shapes and sizes and can even be found in ourselves disguised as self-protection and/or self loathing and denial. Now the question remains, what prejudices do YOU hold that would make you see Inui's kindness as ridicule and scorn rather than admiration and affection?
