Does anyone know why the theme of debt is so, but SO frequent in manhwas (yes, Korean comics specifically)?

There’s always someone in debt, the MC a family member in debt, loan sharks everywhere, or partners just sucking money out of other characters…
I mean, sure, there’s plot device and tropes, poor x rich and whatnot, but it is just so often it got me thinking ʅ(｡◔‸◔｡)ʃ…
This is not necessarily a complaint or critic, I’m realy just curious
authors just can’t get creative tbh. they have to find a way for the mc to come crawling back to the love interest or vice versa in some cases

Uke owns a coffee (?) shop, seme opens a bar/sake store (?) in front of him and uke is pissed about it. Seme provokes uke about his innocence, and at some point catches him doing pervy stuff (?)
