Sorry to everyone who seems to have really enjoyed season 2 and 3, but the storyline made me really uncomfortable... it doesn't matter whether Taehwan is suppressing his own sexuality or not.. Yeonwu made sexual advancements on him early on that Taehwan did not consent to, twice.. He does not owe Yeonwu his feelings.. Why is he the bad guy that needs to grovel? You absolutely should not treat the other party badly, that is out of question and makes Taehwan a dickhead, but have people ever heard of consent? Yeonwu has some nymphomanic tendencies and their bad behaviours feed on the other's respectively; but did I miss something? Puppy dog eyes and a broken heart do still not translate to someone owing you their undying devotion and he did not even lead him on or anything when they were teens, that was all Yeonwu's one sided crush talking... I do admit ditching this about 15 chapter into season two, so if that is the reason for my misunderstanding feel free to let me know.. Genuinely would love some opinions on why people feel like this is a good "redemption story"..
Cuz taehwan acts pretty fucked up too. You’ll understand if you read further. He took it to levels that I just slipped a few chapters in the middle. It got really toxic. And no one’s denying yeonwu did a lot of problematic things too. It’s just at the peak of their toxicity yeonwu broke things. He’s the one who broke the toxic cycle. Also the redemption cycle here isn’t taehwan running after yeonwu and wooing him. It’s him realising he f’ed up. He likes yeonwu. And doing a 180 and floooding yeonwu w love later on. There’s no chasing arc. They messed up. They broke up. N then they became the best couple in the world

That on top of the odd start to their dynamic really put me off,.. But I can understand how the “break up” (which usually doesn’t happen in toxic stories) and Taehwan’s change of heart/perspective/whatever contribute to a good progression in their love story. I keep seeing people praising this as the best redemption story but imo there was nothing. Uke was full of it and actually seme was always nicer but didn't like uke simply and when he did, he became nicer and also said sorry. He already had too much going on his life and uke was the one pushing him.
I read it long back so don't remember many details but I remembered thinking this was okay nothing biggie, uke was embarrassing and seme was okay okay, good guy with fucked up shit going on but that doesn't excuse his homophobia but he was also not really homophobic just hated uke throwing himself at him.
So everytime they praise S2 as THE story, I'm confused because what I read was very different lol

The fact he had weird sex hallucinations of the seme, while sitting reverse cowgirl on another guys dick... I wanted the seme to RUUUUN ... You cannot just wear down a person until they reciprocate your feelings... that is not a love story... Maybe a lot of readers really just blibbed out S2 and primarily mean S3 with the "redemption/ chase arc" but that still does not really fit.. and you really cannot talk about the HEA without acknowledging the full story of how they started... at least imo

Its definitely not everyones cup of tea! But for me it’s one of the best out there, it touches themes not a lot of manwhas can convey perfectly nowadays. I just finished rereading the story and wanted to talk abt it as well!! You have to remember that his homophobia stems from trauma where a trusted adult was WANKIN!! His shit right in front of him as a child, and as far as I understood, he doesnt care abt other gay ppl, he cares when its applied to him, he couldnt tell if what he was feeling towards yeonwoo as disgust or something else… Which is honestly valid, i’ve gone through something similar and even now I fuckin hate coming into contact with guys. Like absolutely fucking disgusting makes me want to rip my skin off type shit. The uke on the other hand just perverted asf which I wont deny LMAO They were def toxic for each other but honestly… If you actually finish the story its quite realistic, internally atleast, the author was able to convey what its like to have trauma, one sided love and hell even having a religious family you know you wont be able to rely on. I like the redemption arc of this because they didnt just do the typical feet groveling sob story, they genuinely grew up, matured, went their own ways THEN finally got together once they knew they were stable enough. Unlike idk… a certain manwha abt a pt and a boxer….
