Just read chapter 40 on the scan team’s site and there is a big hint that romance is ahead. Seemingly age appropriate, not a harem.

Not new concept. Look at ‘This game is too realistic’, which also has a novel. In the story, the protagonist is trapped in a post-apocalyptic, ruined world. To survive and rebuild, he gains the ability to create a "VR game" interface that connects to Earth and recruits real-world humans to log in as "players." These players believe they are playing a hyper-realistic, high-stakes game, while the protagonist uses them as a workforce/army to reclaim land, build bases, and fight monsters, all while keeping the truth that it is a real world hidden from them.

just took a look at it, the dynamic between player-protagonist is more different not to mention the world building is a completely different genre. something closer to the title you'd recommend is the legendary mechanic or the ultimate shut-in; base building is different from kingdom building
Not true at all. ‘This game is too realistic’ has the same apocalypse wasteland setting where the MC as a loner uses the players to save the world and rebuild.

Let’s assume this isn’t an omegaverse and think this through. ML loves MC but isn’t gay so he’ll be in a relationship with MC but feel repulsive about sex. That makes perfect sense. That doesn’t mean they aren’t dating. ML’s actions show he cares and loves. MC is the one with issues. ML breaking up with MC also makes sense because he thinks he’s cheating and doesn’t deserve MC anymore.

MC got transmigrated into a world and spent 30 years fighting to survive thinking it was a classic RPG. He retired as a war hero and was about to reach the ending only to realize the 30 years were just a prologue. The main storyline was a fantasy world with skimpy women and no men.
