It’s unfair to Asami (Akitora's wife) to think of her as a victim. She said herself, “I was ready for this but I didn’t think it would be a guy.” She knew that Akitora was going to cheat on her, he's done it before. Akitora is the (at this point in time) the future head of a yakuza group, you honestly think he has great morals? He kills people and deals drugs. She decides to support him. She doesn't act like a normal woman, she didn't get upset/cry or threaten Rogi. She did the opposite, she makes her so great as a character. Also, this is a story about Rogi's youth and his should I say, obession with Akitora. Of course, they are going to have sex.
Cheating isn't acceptable but Asami sees and knows her place as his wife and knows that she isn't going anywhere nor is anyone going to take her place. She isn't scared of Rogi, and if she were, she would handle it (she said if herself). You only feel sorry for her because you imagine yourself in her place or feel because she's a nice person (she's an ane-san...she does bad things too). You're pitying her. She needs no pity. She made her decision and decided to remain Akitora's wife. That's actually a strong character.
