and ''sweetie'' it IS a real problem, both in GL and BL how half of the stuff out there is literally either rape culture, minors being in relationships with adults, or the author drawing smut of underage characters. and this is just as much of a problem irl and all those works just seem to keep on making more people think it's normal to groom younger people or to sexualize people who are underage. I honestly posted my first comment because I was literally just shocked how people still seem to still not gaf about all those works where all this stuff happens and everyone just excuses it every single time

don’t let them silence you, it’s so weird how barely anyone talks about how much sa, manipulation, and lack of accountability there is in this godforsaken manga. not to mention this is all happening when theyre minors in HIGH SCHOOL!

the normalisation of sexualising minors is absolutely terrible - from the classic ‘school girl’ porn category, to highschoolers in anime getting a panty and boob shot every 5 seconds, to nobody giving a fuck about minors being depicted having sex, and even people defending actual CHILDREN being sexualised and/or beinf with older/maturer people (loli/shotacon, and yes, it happens a LOT. i’ve argued with SO many people over this one shotacon manga).

all of u who are saying “it’s fiction”, fiction affects reality, how do you think kids are taught their future morals and values during their childhood? partially movies/tv shows (which are FICTION). how do you think people became prejudiced against sharks? the movie jaws. how do you think flip phones were invented? literally star trek.

normalising the sexualisation of minors in fiction normalises the objectification of children, which can desensitise our society to actual, real csa and grooming. also, as we’ve seen, it lowers societal taboos against these themes (like how so many people are accepting of this).
not only that, these websites aren’t 18+ at ALL. so children and teenagers can easily access these sites, which is not ok and happens a LOT. so many yaoi consumers (actual smut bl, not shounen ai) nowadays are teenage girls as well, which is hella weird.

anyway, i find it odd to defend against a manga which includes highschoolers having sex, beinf assaulted, and from what i’ve seen of the comments, a student being with a TEACHER…eugh…top 10 worst tropes of all time istfg it’s disgusting

it is also the very same porn industry - the one that has ruined and tortured thousands upon millions of peoples lives, both their physical and mental health - which has contributed to the sexualisation of minors in real life and in fictional media. they are connected and the problem that we are addressing at hand right now is not unimportant just because how terrible the porn industry is.
thats like saying “oh you have depression? well i was abused my whole life, my parents died, i’m broke, and i have nothing to live for anymore. i don’t know how to cope at this point”. it’s not a competition on which thing is worse for society, we’d never get anything done with that mindset.

there is 8.3 billion people on this earth. we don’t need to do things one by one, little by little. plus, from the amount of damage porn has done to this world, it would take years to remove the effects of it, and i personally don’t think many people actually care about it enough to stop it. not to mention the amount of money companies and corrupt people rake in by exploiting people. we can’t just postpone one important matter just because something else is a lot more important.

my point is, please don’t invalidate the significance of sexualising minors in media only because the porn industry is absolutely fucking terrible, and because you don’t understand that fiction affects reality.
