I actually thought the author destroyed the series with season 2 and didn't even read all of it, but now that I got myself to read the last few chapters of season 2 I'm really excited for season 3. The story idea is very unique and tragic.

Hm, good question. Well, first things first, I like modern yaoi much more than historical yaoi!
I only like to read historical ones every now and then, but generally speaking I'm more fond of modern ones for some reason, (even though I love straight historical romance far more than any modern straight romance) which is why I was maybe bummed? that I kinda got scammed lol
But I also already thought the story is good before season 2, so season 2 felt like too much for me, like it could have been an entirely different manhwa of its own, or a side story.
But now that we're approaching season 3, I can see that it was intentional, this sudden change-up. That it's not there just for shock value and it's actually just a very complex storyline. Though, I still thought that Red String Quests was going elsewhere with the plot, but I can't complain, since I really like original/unique storylines, and I can't wait to see Yeon 'reconcile' with Kihoon. I'm sure Kihoon will be plenty cute, surprised and embarrassed~

Hm. The story is really fun, but the pacing is horrible, Xu Yanqing is a psychopath, and the flowers every time they kiss are annoying, they break immersion. Besides, who needs censorship for a simple kiss? I can understand the nipple play in chapter 10 being censored with a cherry, but a peck on the lips, or even french kissing.. It's really not that deep, especially with how there's really no detailed depictions of saliva
