if u like healthy i do rly encourage u to read this because of the later arc that happens that really demonstrates their growth, but i get wym by it being a little mediocre at the start, this story isnt rly exciting in that sense

I see why some people don’t like the ml. Also i think that the fact that the mc has very Little self confidence makes it even worse. Like on one side we have the ML that have everything for him and knows it and on the other we have the mc that acts like a little mouse. Even tho i really like the mc I think he needs more life experiences to be with someone like the ML. It’s something I really don’t like in love stories in general is when the relationship feels really imbalanced idk if someone can agree with me but like it does not make it believable. (Not to say that the mc dosn’t have anything for him on the contrary, it’s just that he needs to affirm himself on his own before involving himself with the ml imo)
I agree with you. As of right now the only thing going for him is that he’s pretty and that he can draw. But it’s unrealistic to think that just because of that, you would be with someone like a GOLDEN ALFA

Fr like even tho he’s cute the mc’s giving self insert/yn at the moment. Like he’s a blank canva. It’s the kind of story where I wish we would have a time skip of a few years and see the mc more grown with his own personality and experiences. And also I’m tired of the virgin younger bottom and experienced older top.
I'm gonna sound so annoying but I want to defend this story so much since drawings can't really portray words that well, since this is based on the novel.. but not to spoil anything, give them a little time, I adore their love in the novel so much, on the outside it seems so pure and basic but on the inside they would die without one another (quite literally that's how much they love each other) and the desire they feel for one another is also to die for as a reader, maybe the plot isn't TOP NOTCH but there is SO MUCH detail in everything in this story it's really beautiful... HAVE FAITH I really recommend to keep reading and I hope the manhwa doesn't ruin the feeling of their love TT
I'm in the middle of reading the novel and I agree, there's so much interior life to the MC that doesn't convey very well in this adaptation. Like how he's doneheis best to not move or want anything his whole life and how much he loves and appreciates the people at phantom for teaching him how to start really going after things.... I really recommend the novel
For me it's actually the opposite, the story at the makes the ml seem one dimensional. We've seen so much of the mc backstory and how he navigates life. And I believe the mc coming off as a blank canvas is intentional. He just moved to a new city and has to start his life over he's literally a blank canvas (could also be an allegory alluding to the fact how he's literally starting over as a painter as well) He can't make any big moves due to fear of getting his friends caught which just plays into his character more. In contrast the ml feels very like "well okay what's your deal" the way he's hitting on the mc (tho we all expected it at some point) feels like it happened out of nowhere. Especially right after he was very snappy with him after the omega the ml personally knew visited. His apology dod feel genuine I'll give him that but to jump straight into affection felt off? Esp right as you said the main character hasn't had had his footing in his current life yet, like what is there about him you like? Outside of his looks and the constant suspicion that he may be an omega secretly

I tried multiple time to read this manhwa and was not into it bc it felt sad ig but i felt like u had to read it to the end and i am really not dissapointed. I really like the intimacy that developped bt the two protagonists. The childbirth scene was the best I’ve seen in a BL. They both are so touching, they round each other when they were so alone.

The second couple is going to cause so much misunderstanding between the main couple. I think my comment was misunderstood. I did not felt bad bc of the lack of consent, i felt bad bc of the desperation of the scene. It felt really really intense to me from both side. Like to see the bottom force himself to do a bj and not understand why the top could not go hard and the top starting to cry. The rejection felt intense on both side. Their relationship is very complicated and I always have trouble taking a side. Bc as the bottom said the top made him need him. Even if I want them to end up together, they have a really long way to go. It feels like they meet the good person but at a very wrong time. The bottom never had a time to start loving himself as an omega and the top was not mature enough to let the bottom choose for himself. I’ve been reading BL/yaois for 10 years and I must say rape was very common in 2000/2010 yaois I think it’s linked to rape culture that was still very strong at the time but in 2026 I want to say that we are all aware of those issues. Also if i am being real the readers are the main reason why manhwa authors still put rape in their BLs. When you see Jinx, codename Anastasia being the most popular manhwas, i can understand why some authors would want to follow the rape train. I want to point out why some readers are interested in those but my comment would be too long.
