He lit saw her ignore his call after he got abused, his mom died, his gf rejected his call and didn’t even comfort him. HE WAS A TEENAGER. you act like he told his parents “yo dad let’s go to America so I can ghost my gf.”
It’s obvious he was taken there unwillingly because of his dad’s scandal. His only fault was not reaching out, and I am sure he had a reason because his full past isn’t even revealed yet.
I think it's just a different culture, disability in korea in not the same as a disability in the west, my friend from korea is autistic and had selective mutism, she was bullied relentlessly even by her own extended family, it was actually the main reason her family moved but that was in 2005 to 2010 so maybe things have changed
lol i don’t think so. we learned a little bit of his feelings regarding himself and suddenly it becomes THE reason. i think it’s part of it because his deafness is a sign of abuse. which to people who have been abused can be a reason why they distance themself but i truly don’t think that’s the full reason because yeah his initial deafness was hard for him to deal with but it wasn’t even the biggest issue in his life at that time yk?
