Omg I’ve been so fucking down the past couple days that this ch just made me SOB. God I need some sunny days in my future.

So I read the light novel and I literally hate this dude. Honestly I kinda hate all of the ML (not all of them are romantic but yk- the lock holders) except for the father and the prince. (I haven’t read this in a while so forgive if I don’t know their names) vinter or the winter dude is honestly so incompetent like there are so many moments where he could be actually doing something but he has his head in his ass. Like I’m pretty sure he is also naturally resistant to the brainwashing as well and had failsafes up bc he knew the Laila were eventually going to get out and he had to be ready for that and then he ends up trapping himself in this cycle where everyone dies over and over again because he has regrets. Like yeah your so valiant and shit but thats not how life works… anyways moving on the younger brother is just annoying asf and boy does he know how to hold a grudge. Honestly I think I just hate him because when I was little my siblings ganged up on me and blamed me for stuff that they did and my parents would believe them because they did it so much. And like at least P didn’t really have a lot of actual consequences shall I say but a lot of it’s psychological and that’s not great on anyone. And that fucking slave guy. Godddd I fucking hate that dude. He’s suck a possessive maniac sob (son of a bitch) like he starts working with the Laila because at least he could get with P in the end because he was promised her as a prize???? Fuck that guy. And my boy Derek. He’s honestly a sorry pos that does not know how to actually live in reality. He lives in lala land and thinks that his actions don’t have consequences. Because the stuff in the game that she played before WERE ACTUAL PAST LIVES. And I think in the LN it was mentioned that Derek was one of the people that she had to use the least brainwashing on because in his fucked up mind he wanted to find the real sister so he could be with P.

Reread this for the like 30th time and I’m literally sobbing. Let me find love like this. I want to be saying “your unconditional love erases all of my problems away, there is no way to calculate it but everything about me becomes the foundation of my love for you.”

Ok so from what I understand. This is like a separate dimension. In the beginning the Leila (or the ‘bad mage’s’ who have the power of mind control and manipulation. And instead of using mana like actual mages they use life force. And to prolong their life they use the power of mages and take their life force by killing them. After reading some will they can also take the life force of normal people but it’s just less effective.) were in a battle with actual mages and humankind and got sealed in that mirror. (I think the reason all the actual mages got killed off other than being a ‘threat’ to normal humans and going against religion or against the crown is because they were the main way that the Leila were able to live and keep hurting people because without them they would have short lives and less power and die off.) ok so back to the mirror, they got sealed in it right, and over time they ended up breaking the seal and a leila escaped. The leila took many forms and eventually settled on Ivonne. She was the perfect form to essentially destroy the world as revenge for being sealed. (I think also in the sealed state they are isolated and essentially mentally tortured) So she brainwashed everyone, married the crown prince, and got the golden dragon fang which grants immortality. Then she used the mirror of truth (the thing the race was sealed in) to break the seal and release all the other leila. Then essentially all of mankind became food for them.

Now to Penelope. Because her bloodline is unknown she herself nor everyone else knew she was a descendent of ancient mages. (Brand new information per the most recent chapter but it is alluded to through the system which acts as a bridge to the ancient power) She was adopted off the street as a replacement for Ivonne after she went missing when she was a child. She lost her mother who was a traveling merchant at 12 and was living on the streets. When she is around 17 siyeon (the younger woman she was in the normal world) gets transmigrated into her body and she is trapped in a ‘romance game’

Ok back to the story. So essentially they the Leila kill off Penelope first because of her descendants of ancient mages she has the natural affinity to pick out a leila from a normal person. She will naturally feel uneasy or on edge around one. The leila ends the world yada yada and the only person who is left fighting is winter (or vinter in the most recent chapter) and he sacrificed his soul to make the world in a constant time loop until there is a different outcome. The time loop extends for all eternity and (not to much information I could find on this but I’ll give it my best shot truly based off assumptions. This info will probably change but I’m making do with the information I have) Penelope’s soul breaks down and becomes nothing but dust. The time loop stops until her soul is restored because she is the only person who can stop the leila. She is the only person resistant to the brainwashing. (I think because she is such a big piece of the puzzle that was the reason why her soul was the one to be destroyed. Also probably because she wasn’t strong enough to disobey the brainwashing even though she had the ancient mage blood so that just took a toll on her soul.)

Ok so before the explains why she is in the game I think I need to touch base on the system. From what I know the system came to be from the ancient mages. (Yk like from the map and stuff that’s the only way I can to this conclusion) and I think the system became fully integrated into the time loops after the ‘forbidden spell’ (which can only be assumed to be ancient magic) and the game was just the bridge to the fragmented soul of Penelope that went to different dimensions. So the reason why siyeon (pre game Penelope) was sucked into the game is because she is a fragment of Penelope’s soul. She is Penelope. And I think they draw a lot of parallels between the dimensions because their lives were kind of similar. Also per the most recent chapter it was said that ‘her bloodline was too diluted to inherit any real (ancient) magic power’ so I think that the system is a bridge for her to actually utilize spells. Because otherwise it would be impossible. She has no magical affinity otherwise winter would have known immediately.

So the reason Penelope can use the system, the maps, and why she’s even in the game is because she is the protagonist with the ancient mage blood. And the reason why siyeon or Penelope didn’t know any of this is because the original Penelope didn’t know. The only way they found out was because she went to the mirror of truth. Which essentially told her the truth but is also a bridge to the system and the ancient mages power. (This is just a theory do not hold me to this but I’m pretty sure I’m correct) And the leila for some reason also remembers her past lives as well. But that I have no clue or explanation for because nobody else remembers including winter (or vinter) because the story would have gone way differently if he had. Because he is in most of the loops the one who brings her back to the dukes house and he definitely has some resistance to the brainwashing because he was able to break out of it. And it has shown that the souls don’t ’reset’ so he would still have some of that resistance.

Ok I’m just rambling at this point. (Sources are I reread the entire thing, looked at the wiki and made assumptions. So not all of this is correct but it most likely is unless they throw a major curveball again)
