Well a lot of snake species will leave their brood to prevent inbreeding. Incest is bad due to deformities in the children so evolution has fun ways of making animals avoid it.
For us humans, instead of instincts making us leave home to avoid incest, our instincts just make us repulsed by incest.
So, I'm just saying if this was biologically accurate, those brothers would be very unlikely to have fallen in love. It's not biologically accurate tho so I'll ignore it, there are a lot of things that I had to overlook even though it would be physically impossible or dangerous.
